Logistics / Transportation Manager

Job Summary To Apply for this Job Click Here Logistics / Transportation Manager Hands-on Logistics / Transportation Manager needed to oversee daily trucking operations, dispatching, customer communication, and shipment coordination. This role will manage a fleet of drivers while supporting both domestic freight movement and export container logistics in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage and dispatch approximately 15 drivers daily, ensuring efficient routing and on-time service Coordinate domestic shipments and export container logistics from pickup through delivery Communicate directly with customers regarding scheduling, shipment status, delays, and service needs Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, carriers, steamship lines, and customers Plan and adjust routes based on production schedules, customer demands, traffic, weather, and operational needs Monitor driver performance, equipment utilization, and daily logistics activity Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies Assist with load planning, container scheduling, documentation, and shipment tracking Work closely with operations and yard teams to keep material and freight moving efficiently Troubleshoot transportation issues, delays, breakdowns, and customer concerns as they arise

Qualifications:

Experience in logistics, transportation, dispatching, or fleet management Strong hands-on trucking and routing background preferred CDL preferred or prior driving experience strongly valued Experience with domestic freight and/or export container logistics Ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Comfortable working directly with drivers, customers, and operations teams Preferred Backgrounds Scrap, recycling, trucking, industrial, construction, port, or commodities environments Experience with dispatch software, routing systems, and transportation documentation
