The role involves accepting and dispensing prescription medications while ensuring compliance with patient medication regimens and legal requirements. This assignment offers an immediate start with an eight-week duration.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispense prescription medications accurately and monitor patient medication use to prevent overuse. Maintain confidentiality and proper management of patient records and pharmacy files. Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer any questions. Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medicines, including storage, dosage, and possible drug interactions. Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications for both external and internal use, including preparation of sterile solutions. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical inventory and collaborate with healthcare practitioners to address drug-related patient issues.

Desired Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Active New Jersey state pharmacy license. Experience in long-term care pharmacy preferred. Ability to work day shifts, some evenings, and rotating weekends.
