Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract Join a healthcare setting in Sicklerville, NJ, as a Staff Pharmacist for an 8-week contract position starting ASAP. This role involves essential responsibilities in medication dispensing, patient education, and pharmacy operations, ensuring optimal pharmaceutical care and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately. Monitor patient medication compliance and patterns of over-usage. Ensure all medicines are supplied and prescribed within legal guidelines. Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files. Advise patients on medication use, potential reactions, and answer their questions. Provide consultations on prescription and OTC medications, including dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the use and care of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories. Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with physicians and healthcare practitioners for patient safety. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Valid New Jersey pharmacy license. Experience in pharmaceutical dispensing and patient counseling. Strong knowledge of medication laws and best practices. Ability to supervise staff and manage inventory efficiently. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Schedule:
Days, some evenings. Rotating weekends. This contract opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist ready to provide exceptional care in a dynamic environment.
