Job Description
A Lot Porter/Driver at Great Lakes Truck Center handles basic shop support, vehicle movement, and facility upkeep in a heavy-duty truck service environment. Core Responsibilities Moving trucks around the yard and service bays Assisting technicians by staging vehicles, parts, and tools Performing basic maintenance tasks (checking fluids, tire pressure, battery condition) Washing and cleaning trucks, shop areas, and equipment Keeping the garage, lot, and workspaces organized and safe Helping with pickup and delivery of vehicles when needed Skills & Requirements Valid driver's license- CDL Required Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks safely Basic mechanical awareness (not full technician level) Physical stamina (lifting, standing, working outdoors in varying weather) Attention to safety procedures and shop protocols

High school diploma or equivalent.Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in vehicle maintenance or a related field. Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment. Demonstrated ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections. Proficiency in using computer-based diagnostic tools and software. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects when necessary.
