Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing low voltage systems across various facilities. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication, security, and data systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients' environments. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, VoIP telephony, and telecommunication infrastructure. Perform fiber splicing and cable management using power tools and hand tools to ensure high-quality connections. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install and repair systems. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and provide technical support to clients on-site. Install and configure network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya communication systems. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, repairs, and maintenance activities for compliance and future reference. Ensure adherence to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols during all installation and maintenance tasks. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar low voltage or telecommunications role. Strong knowledge of computer networking including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), switches, routers, and network protocols. Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, fiber splicing, VoIP systems, and telephony equipment such as Avaya systems. Familiarity with schematics, electrical wiring standards (NEC), and telecommunication infrastructure. Ability to use testing equipment such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair techniques required for system installation and maintenance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Knowledge of electrical high voltage commercial installations.
