Lowboy Driver (CDL-A)
  • Logging & Heavy Equipment Transport About Us Abston Logging is a growing logging company dedicated to safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
We specialize in production logging across Washington state. We're looking for a skilled and dependable Lowboy Driver to join our team. Position Summary The Lowboy Driver is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment to and from job sites. This role requires strong attention to safety, equipment handling expertise, and the ability to navigate both highway and off-road conditions. Key Responsibilities Safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment using a lowboy trailer Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer Ensure all loads are properly secured and compliant with DOT regulations Navigate logging roads, rural terrain, and job sites in varying weather conditions Communicate with field crews to coordinate deliveries Maintain accurate logs, permits, and delivery documentation Perform basic maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly Qualifications Valid CDL-A license (required) Experience transporting logging or construction equipment preferred Strong understanding of load securement and DOT regulations Ability to operate in rugged terrain and adverse weather conditions Clean driving record Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or extended days Preferred Skills Experience in logging or forestry operations Knowledge of heavy equipment operation (loading/unloading) Mechanical aptitude Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay or per-load rate (DOE) Overtime opportunities Health insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan options Why Join Us Steady, year-round work Supportive team environment Well-maintained equipment Opportunity to grow within the company
