SUMMARY:

The Float

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible to float to ambulatory practices within primary care where a need has been identified. The Float
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing direct patient care, usually under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with established plans.

This role is based at Batavia Medical Campus and will float around the Batavia area, including Leroy, Bergen, Batavia and Medina.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts and documents a thorough observation of each patient's medical status upon presentation and throughout the patient's course of treatment. Assists with the patient's treatment plan under the direction of the RN or provider. Provides routine nursing services for patients as directed by the RN or provider. Complies with the evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines of the department. Completes required documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Provides regular patient status updates to the appropriate personnel. Attends and participates in department/facility meetings as required. Acts in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and professional standards and policies. Maintains clinical competency by pursuing continuing education opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintenance of all adult and pediatric competencies within primary care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing 1 year of experience required Valid New York State (NYS) driver's license required Current New York State (NYS) LPN license required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Compassionate, warm and patient focused. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment. Exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior. 3 Years of Experience in clinical setting, ambulatory experience preferred

• Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
