Join a healthcare team in Gardendale, AL as a contract LPN for a 9-week assignment starting ASAP. This non-travel position follows a 06:30 AM-03:00 PM schedule.
Compensation:
Local rate $852/40 hours.
Required credentials:
Valid, active LPN license for the practicing state BLS certification Key responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician supervision: medication administration, wound care, vital sign monitoring, and basic treatments. Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans. Accurately administer medications and IV therapies; manage IV lines and monitor infusion status. Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications. Maintain precise documentation of assessments, treatments, medication administration, and changes in patient condition. Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing. Provide urinary catheter care including insertion support, maintenance, and monitoring. Support patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management; assist with activities of daily living as needed. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures. Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety. Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support when required. Adhere to infection control practices, proper PPE use, and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies. Advocate for patients' rights and needs; maintain professional development and comply with regulatory standards. May supervise CNAs or UAPs as assigned. Perform other duties as directed by management.
