Job Description
General Summary:
Responsible for providing assistance to the people supported physically, socially and psychologically and completing required training documentation for compliance with State/Federal regulations or standards of service and general quality of service and safety of the people supported served in the programs as per the Policy and Procedure of the Agency and the governing agencies. These tasks are complex and required negotiation and communication skills, organizational abilities, advocacy skills and overall business sense.Key Functions:
Ensures implementation of nursing care plans/healthcare plans for person supported attending the day program. Dispense and documents prescribed medications, monitor for side effects or reactions Take and record vital signs and observe changes in physical or mental condition of people attending day program Works closely with Registered Nurse in reporting pertinent medial information. Assists in ongoing in-service programs related to health services. Perform blood sugar checks, wound care etc. Ensures routine documentation of individual health status in nurse's notes. •Qualifications:
Experience in providing services and support to the people supported with developmental disabilities preferred. Minimum age requirement is 21 years. Ability to communicate verbally and written English. Sign language is an added asset. Must be able to work independently and responsibly with confidential information. Must meet all of Metro Day Treatment Center, Inc. and State Regulations requirements for pre-employment. Valid driver's license from state of residence, valid/current First Aid andCPR, LPN
