Job Description

Alamco creates world-class glulam mass timber beams and utility poles. The Lumber Finishing Specialist is a position with an opportunity to learn new skills and produce a product you can take pride in. Located in Albert Lea, MN we are only 23 mi. from Austin, 35 mi. from Owatonna and 42 mi. from Mason City.
Type of Work:
This position will work in a production environment to sand, trim, drill, stain, and finish boards of lumber to create custom mass timber beams and glulam utility poles. Must be comfortable with and able to do consistent heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds on a regular basis) and able to climb, step, and stand for long periods of time. Must be willing to get dirty (we offer uniforms and safety equipment) and work in sheltered but hot & cold environments. All employees may be trained in multiple departments and are expected to fill in (as needed) outside of their home department. Other departments include lumber storage, lumber preparation, and glue.

  • 2:30pm plus overtime as needed
Job Requirements:
Strong work ethic & reliable attendance Commitment to safety and quality Positive attitude with willingness to learn new jobs Good interpersonal skills demonstrating teamwork Ability to regularly lift up to 75lbs. and keep up with a steady work pace
Preferred Skills:
Experience in lumber manufacturing and/or wood products Experience with reading blueprints and/or finish carpentry
