MACHINE OPERATOR I
  • MANUFACTURING (MO1MFG) ARCH
  • SUP•McElhattan, PA 17748 Apply Overview Position Type 7 OPERATIVES Job Shift Full Time Education Level High School or GED Travel Percentage None Apply Description Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, Supplies or their designee, this position provides for the set up and operation of various production machinery such heat seals, guillotine cutters and tape binding machines.
Responsible for the machinery and equipment's continuous and consistent operation to include, setup, repair, maintenance and ongoing machine operations for efficient processing of products. Responsible to ensure all production equipment is operating properly and complete repairs as needed. Perform preventive maintenance, and check for abnormal wear for such machinery and trouble-shooting to ensure necessary repairs/adjustments are addressed to keep the machinery in good operating condition. Set-up and efficiently operate various production machinery such as heat seals, guillotine cutters and tape binding machines. Responsible to perform other duties of equal or lesser classification irrespective of required change in department, hours (including mandatory overtime) or work conditions, as directed by supervisor. Responsible for regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Maintain safe, clean and organized work areas. Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as may be required by supervision. Qualifications High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent. Must be able to read a ruler up to 1/16". Mechanical aptitude and dexterity; ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions. Flexible to make appropriate decisions regarding safety in handling materials and be responsive to changing work environments. Ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with co-workers and to adhere to Brodart rules, policies and standards of conduct. Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise, dust and glue or adhesives. Must be able to stand/walk for 10 hour shifts and possess the ability to frequently bend, lift and carry up to 75 pounds. This position is subject to scheduled overtime which may be required based on production needs.
