Job Description:
Description We are Kolpak! We design, manufacture and supply best-in-class commercial walk-in coolers, freezers, and refrigeration equipment for the global foodservice market. The Sheet Metal Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining sheet metal fabrication equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications. This role involves working with press brake, shear, punch press, CNC, and roll former. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to safety, quality and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, this position is based in Parsons, Tennessee•.
Major Accountability:
Safety Quality Production Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Set up and operate sheet metal fabrication equipment according to work orders, blueprints, and job travelers Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and measurement specifications Load raw materials and unload finished parts, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs to meet dimensional and quality requirements Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges Conduct routine preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on assigned machines Identify defects, scrap causes, and process improvement opportunities Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and quality standards Maintain accurate production, scrap, and downtime records Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S standards Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to resolve production issues Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice and the employee may be assigned additional tasks as needed to support the business operations.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
3-5 years' experience required in Construction and/or Manufacturing Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tape measures Perform basic math and reading comprehension Ability to read, speak, and understand English Ability to stand/walk on concrete for a full shift and work in temperatures above 95°F Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and lift 50 lbs. alone; lift more than 50 lbs. with assistance Ability to handle tools safely and inspect finished products Must be able to wear
