DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAble to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plansLaying out, cutting, fitting, measuring, and welding stainless steel to create the desired shape or object as defined in the blueprintsInspect Sheet Metal for imperfections and overall qualityAccuracy in reading a tape measure, caliper, or other tools of measure to ensure appropriate cutting of the stainless steel.
Selects, installs, and aligns dies, punches, cutting tools, guides, and stops to set up machineCan work independently or within a groupSets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or templatesRemoves burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece using various hand toolsInspection of the item to ensure quality of piece produced and make corrections before sending it off to the next stationStacks, marks, packs, and transports finished work pieces to next workstation using routings and dispatchesBe able to meet the physical demands of the position (standing for long periods, bending/ lifting/ holding/ grasping)Other duties as deemed necessary SKILLS & ABILITIESAbility to read blueprints, drawingsAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, suing whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsApply common sense understand to carry out simple one or two-step instructionsAble to use small to midsized hand tools in a safe mannerCan read a tape measure down to 1/32 of an inchAttention to detailAble to add/subtract/multiply/divide all unites of measureAnalytical thinkingTime Management to be able to meet production deadlines and target ratesAble to communicate effectively with others

DESCRIPTIONSets up and operates machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, cutting machines and punches to fabricate metal products. EDUCATION & TRAINING
High School Diploma or equivalentPrevious experience working with stainless steel or other metals a plusKNOWLEDGE
& EXPERIENCEExperience in reading a tape measure; accurately taking measurementsKnowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use PPE (personal protective equipment)Experience working with hands, lifting, and moving large pieces metalWORKING CONDITIONSWORK
ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel. Employee frequently is required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. Also while performing this job, you will be exposed regularly to fumes and airborne particles and occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
