To Be Determined Job Description Machine Shop Instructor (Part-Time Evening Program) (Hire through Edustaff) We are seeking an experienced and motivated Machine Shop Instructor to teach adult trade students in our growing machining program. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping students build practical industry skills for successful employment in manufacturing and machining careers. Position Overview The instructor will teach students foundational machining and manual machine shop operations using a hands-on, project-based approach. Curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching aids are provided as part of our structured three-tier training program. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of recent hands-on experience operating manual machine tools Experience with equipment including: Bridgeport mills Clausing lathes Grinding and cutting equipment Drill presses Strong understanding of machining fundamentals and shop safety Ability to effectively teach and mentor adult learners Related education in machining or manufacturing technology preferred Associate degree in a related field preferred Program Structure Our training program consists of three levels: Level 1
  • Machining Fundamentals (32 Hours) Topics include: Shop Math Metrology Print Reading GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) Level 2
  • Basic Machine Shop (60 Hours) Hands-on, project-based learning Operation of manual shop equipment Focus on practical machining skills and safe shop practices Level 3
  • CNC Machining (60 Hours) Students may continue into the CNC course taught by a second instructor Schedule Classes typically meet two evenings per week 4-hour sessions per class Compensation Starting pay: $35 per hour Ideal Candidate The ideal instructor is patient, dependable, industry-experienced, and passionate about helping students gain the confidence and technical skills needed to succeed in today's manufacturing environment.
