The Machinist at Lippert Components is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining machining equipment to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role ensures quality, efficiency, and safety throughout all machining processes in support of manufacturing and product development. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.) Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications Perform precision measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges Monitor machining operations to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs to improve performance and output Inspect finished parts to verify compliance with tolerances and specifications Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company standards Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues Document production data, measurements, and process adjustments Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred 2+ years of machining experience (CNC and/or manual machining) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials Familiarity with measuring instruments and inspection techniques Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications CNC programming experience (e.g., G-code) Experience with CAD/CAM software Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles Prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Thursday 5am-3:30pm Travel Minimal to no travel required.
