Mail Center Specialist - Entry Level

Post San Juan is hiring a part/full time clerk! 18-35 hours per week We're located at 689 Airport Center. We sort mail and check-in packages, retrieve mail and packages for customers, pack and ship all sorts of things to all sorts of places. We also sell a variety of small retail items.

Starting pay of $21/hr Paid Vacation (2x WA state requirements) Paid Sick Leave (in addition to Paid Vacation) Snacks and Drinks (you can help pick what gets stocked) We do a unique job that has a diverse set of requirements and expectations: Responding to our customers with the utmost professionalism and kindness Ablity to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds Using multiple specialized software programs, often within a single transaction, where accuracy is paramount Exercising discretion and maintaining the privacy of our customers and boxholders Accurately read and help organize large volumes of packages Be able to walk, stand and carry things the majority of your working shift Count the cash register at the end of the shift Be over the age of 21 due to needing to handle alcohol shipments Have a valid WA driver's license Live on San Juan Island or have firmly committed housing on the island. Exceptions can be made for commuters in their own boats from nearby islands. Unfortunately, commuting from the mainland via ferry is not a reliable option.
