This is one of two Accounts Receivable positions with Valmark and provides support for all stores: Kings Market, Friday Harbor Marketplace, Kings Marine and Joe Friday's. In addition to detailed bookkeeping work, this position also provides administrative effort in a variety of other areas. This position works closely with their A/R counterpart to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations while meeting the company's goals and objectives through special projects and by serving in an Office Manager capacity.Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable:
- Process the daily deposits across all store locations 1-3 days per week.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, or concerns related to purchases.
- Collect, process and document employee housing payments.
- Manage and process manufacture coupons.
- Provide backup coverage for Co-Accounts Receivable position including but not limited to additional daily deposit work, entering weekly sales into Quickbooks and management of house charge accounts.
Finance Support:
- Enter manual checks into Quickbooks.
- Conduct weekly Positive Pay bank reporting.
- Assist Business Manager with reconciliation, financial forecasting and spending trends.
- Process change orders for both stores, 2 days a week.
- Provide relief support for the quarterly liquor report.
- Fill in for Accounts Payable duties as necessary.
Office Manager Duties:
- Manage the cleaning, maintenance and when applicable décor of the office.
- Order office and banking supplies.
- Schedule paper shredding service as needed and archive of the annual filing process.
- Assist with mail, inbound and outbound.
- Assist with answering the phone and respond to email and in person inquiries.
- Lead the effort in office equipment operational knowledge, lease and maintenance responsibilities.
Administrative Support:
- Contribute to special projects and annual events such as but not limited to student scholarship program, staff meetings and gatherings, employee Anniversary program, employee High Five program.
- Participate in annual Employee Housing renewal process (creating contracts, scheduling walk-throughs etc.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting or finance roles.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience working cohesively with a team in a fast past environment which requires autonomy.
Skills:

Minimum Age:
21 years of age.Lifting Requirements:
Ability to lift 25+ pounds as needed.Equipment:
10-key calculator, safe, computer, phone, copy machine, paper shredder, postage meter etc.Physical Abilities:
Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, twist, and bend; repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip and balance; occasionally stoop, crouch, and kneel. Lifting may include floor to shoulder and overhead lifting. Occasional use and climbing of step stools or ladders required.Certifications:
Valid driver's license. This position requires driving between different locations within town limits.Additional Conditions:
A background check will be conducted upon conditional hire.Work Environment:
Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.Communication:
Ability to write, speak, hear and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to requests, fellow employees and customers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as spreadsheets, operating and maintenance manuals.Education:
Degree in math or accounting preferred, but not required. High School diploma or GED, or related job experience and/or training.
