Maintenance Assistant Reports to:
Facilities Director Supervises:
No supervisory duties are included in this position Education and/or Experience High School diploma or GED required. One year of comparable work preferred. Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration and painting. Assists other engineering staff with repairs to locks, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, minor carpentry work, etc. Reports major repairs to supervisor for correction. Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations Job Summary (Essential Functions) Responsible for ensuring that facilities are clean and in good operating condition. Including cleaning buildings and rooms, and performing general maintenance and repair of the building, grounds, and equipment. Job Tasks/Duties Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor Comply with all safety and health regulations Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs Diagnose and troubleshoot issues Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors Licenses and Special Requirements Physical Requirement and Work Environment Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position. Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling. Frequent repetitive motions. Continuous standing and walking.Similar remote jobs
