Job Title:
Structural Mechanic Pay:
$38-$42/hr Job Description This role focuses on structural work on military rotary-wing aircraft, primarily performing the first half of a reset by breaking down the aircraft and depopulating parts and components. You will use your structural modification and repair experience to support programs on platforms such as the Boeing Apache, SH-60, and CH-47, ensuring high-quality workmanship in a controlled, air-conditioned facility. Responsibilities Perform structural work on aircraft, including modification and repair of airframe components. Support the first half of aircraft reset activities by breaking down the aircraft and depopulating parts and components in an organized and traceable manner. Remove, handle, and prepare structural parts and components for inspection, repair, or replacement according to established procedures. Install and re-install structural and airframe components following technical data, drawings, and work instructions. Inspect structural areas and components for damage, wear, or defects and report findings to the appropriate personnel. Use appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques to perform structural tasks safely and efficiently. Follow all maintenance, quality, and safety procedures while working on aircraft structures. Collaborate with team members and other technicians to meet project schedules and production goals. Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly account for tools, parts, and hardware during depopulation and installation activities. Document work performed in accordance with company and program requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Essential Skills At least 4 years of experience as a structural mechanic performing aircraft structural modification or repair. Hands-on experience working on aircraft structures, with any aircraft platform considered as long as it includes modification or repair work. Experience with structural and airframe work, including removal, repair, and installation of components. Ability to read and follow technical data, work instructions, and basic drawings related to structural and airframe tasks. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with common tools and equipment used in aircraft structural work. Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards in an aviation maintenance environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with military rotary-wing aircraft, such as Apache, SH-60, or CH-47, preferred but not required. Knowledge and Understand in structures, airframe, and installation work within an aviation or aerospace setting. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with supervisors and peers. Strong organizational skills to support depopulation, tracking, and handling of multiple aircraft parts and components. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work takes place in an air-conditioned facility designed for aircraft structural and airframe work. The schedule is a first-shift role, typically running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will work in a shop and hangar-style environment around aircraft, tools, and maintenance equipment, following standard safety procedures and attire appropriate for an aviation maintenance setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
