) in Huntsville, Alabama. Position Summary STS Technical Services is seeking Aircraft Mechanics- Structures across multiple experience levels to support a direct-hire opportunity tied to a Government contract in Huntsville, Alabama.
- Entry / Developing Technician (2+ Years Experience) Perform basic structural repairs and component replacement Follow technical data and engineering drawings Complete standard fastener removal and installation Assist with fabrication, corrosion control, and basic repairs Work under close supervision Level II
- Skilled / Independent Technician (5+ Years Experience) Perform advanced structural repairs with minimal supervision Fabricate and modify aircraft structural components Install close tolerance, high-strength fasteners Conduct corrosion repair and structural modifications Work independently from technical documentation Support rigging, weight and balance, and system checks as needed Level III
- Senior / Subject Matter Expert (12+ Years Experience) Lead complex structural repairs and depot-level modifications Develop and execute repair solutions using engineering data Mentor and train junior mechanics Recommend process improvements and repair methodologies Perform expert-level fabrication, structural analysis, and troubleshooting Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards Core Responsibilities Inspect and assess aircraft structural damage Perform repairs using approved technical data and procedures Utilize advanced metalworking techniques and tooling Manufacture and install structural components and repairs Maintain strict tool control and support FOD prevention programs Document all maintenance activities in compliance with QA and regulatory requirements Support safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials Operate and maintain aircraft support equipment as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Aircraft structural maintenance experience required based on level Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals Strong understanding of aircraft structures and fabrication methods Depot-level experience strongly preferred for higher levels FAA A&P certification is a plus, not required Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance Work Environment Direct-hire position supporting a Government contract Based in Huntsville, Alabama 4×10 day shift schedule Structured growth opportunities across multiple experience levels About STS Technical Services STS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with leading organizations across aerospace, defense, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.
