In this role, you will perform and lead advanced aircraft maintenance, repairs, inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and documentation in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, Repair Station Manual requirements, and Quality Control Manual procedures. This position is ideal for an experienced A&P Mechanic with turbine-powered aircraft maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to mentor junior mechanics in a high-performance aircraft maintenance environment. Position Overview The Sr. A&P Mechanic serves as a technical expert and working leader within the maintenance operation. This role is responsible for advanced aircraft maintenance work, complex repairs and modifications, system diagnostics, documentation accuracy, and support of junior mechanics through coaching, training, and oversight. The successful candidate will bring progressive aviation maintenance experience, strong knowledge of FAA requirements, experience with turbine-powered aircraft, and the ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision. Primary Role & Responsibilities Perform and lead advanced maintenance, repairs, and inspections in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications, including IPC, AMM, OHM, CMM, and related technical data Serve as a technical expert and mentor to junior mechanics by providing guidance, coaching, and oversight on maintenance procedures and best practices Train, support, and develop junior mechanics while contributing to a strong team-oriented maintenance environment Conduct detailed diagnostics and troubleshooting of airframe structures, powerplants, and aircraft systems Oversee and execute complex repairs and modifications, including component overhaul, system calibration, and structural repairs Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with the Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual Maintain accurate logbook entries and ensure proper documentation of all maintenance performed Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance and Service Management to resolve technical issues and improve operational efficiency Promote and maintain safe work practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance operation Qualifications & Requirements FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required Inspection Authorization strongly preferred 8+ years of progressive aviation maintenance experience required Demonstrated expertise in turbine-powered aircraft required TBM aircraft or other turboprop experience strongly preferred Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, mechanical, and avionics skills required Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision Engine run and taxi experience preferred Advanced knowledge of aviation maintenance software and digital documentation tools required High school diploma or GED required Technical training or associate degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology preferred Must be authorized to work in the United States Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check About STS Technical Services STS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with leading companies across the aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, and defense industries.
