STS Technical Services is hiring a Lead Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic in Stuart, Florida, to support business aviation maintenance operations.
This full-time, hands-on leadership role is responsible for leading major aircraft maintenance projects while working directly alongside other technicians. The position follows a compressed schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week.
Previous Hawker aircraft maintenance experience is required.

The Lead Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic performs and oversees scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on corporate aircraft.
This position coordinates with maintenance management, provides technical guidance to other technicians and helps ensure aircraft maintenance is completed safely, accurately and in accordance with FAA regulations, approved maintenance programs and manufacturer requirements.
Responsibilities Perform and lead scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance
Lead aircraft inspections, troubleshooting and repair activities
Coordinate with maintenance management on daily planning and workload distribution
Support timely completion of major aircraft maintenance projects
Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to maintenance technicians
Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with FAA regulations
Follow approved maintenance programs, manufacturer manuals and company procedures
Verify maintenance records, logbook entries, inspections and required signoffs are accurate and complete
Monitor project quality, regulatory compliance, safety and aircraft readiness
Safely use aircraft maintenance tools and ground-support equipment
Operate aircraft jacks, hydraulic and electrical power units, pressurization carts and calibrated tooling as required
Ensure aircraft parts and components are properly identified, preserved and stored
Verify parts and components are serviceable before installation
Remain current with maintenance manuals, service bulletins and airworthiness directives
Review engineering documentation and FAA-approved technical data as required
Maintain a clean and professional work environment
Follow all PPE, safety and aircraft-protection requirements
Perform aircraft engine runs and taxi operations when trained and authorized
Complete additional responsibilities assigned by maintenance management Required Qualifications Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Substantial corporate or business aviation maintenance experience
Previous Hawker aircraft maintenance experience
Demonstrated ability to lead major inspections, repairs or aircraft maintenance projects
Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints and engineering documentation
Strong aircraft troubleshooting skills
Strong documentation and communication skills
Strong problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with standard aircraft maintenance tools, equipment and materials
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as required by the FAA
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
Ability to perform close-tolerance work
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to participate in an FAA-mandated drug and alcohol testing program
Ability to pass applicable background screenings Preferred Qualifications FAA Inspection Authorization
FCC license
Experience using Corridor Aviation Service Software
