This role is based onsite at Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), West Palm Beach, Florida. Position Overview The Lead A&P Technician is responsible for performing aircraft maintenance while providing day-to-day technical leadership and oversight to assigned technicians. This role ensures maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and Empire Aviation USA policies and procedures. The Lead A&P serves as the primary technical resource during assigned shifts and supports coordination between technicians, inspection personnel, and management to maintain workflow efficiency and quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Technical Duties Perform aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and Company policies (RSQCM). Ensure all assigned maintenance tasks are completed accurately and within scheduled timelines. Document maintenance discrepancies and ensure corrective actions are properly executed. Maintain proper tagging, handling, and storage of aircraft components, parts, and panels. Maintain work areas, tooling, and facilities in a safe, clean, and operational condition. Maintain required personal tooling necessary to perform maintenance duties. Lead Responsibilities Provide daily technical leadership and guidance to assigned technicians and apprentices. Coordinate work assignments and prioritize tasks to meet operational and customer deadlines. Serve as the primary point of contact during shift operations for maintenance-related matters. Review work progression and ensure accurate shift turnover reporting. Support compliance with RSQCM procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations. Mentor junior technicians and apprentices, promoting professional development and best practices. Identify and escalate issues involving parts, materials, workmanship, or airworthiness concerns. Coordinate with Inspection Authorization (IA) personnel and management to ensure timely sign-offs. Assist management in maintaining efficient workflow and manpower utilization. Physical Requirements Ability to climb, stoop, stretch, walk, or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required for aircraft maintenance operations. Job Requirements Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations and Part 145 repair station operations. Minimum 5+ years experience as an aircraft mechanic supporting turbine-powered aircraft. Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred. Ability to interpret aircraft technical data and maintenance manuals. Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Available for domestic and international travel as required.
