Qualifying Questions:

Summary:
Performs structural assembly operations using required tools and appropriate prints, specifications, and operational requirements to complete work assignments. Performs assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations. Performs sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items on aircraft. Rivets structural members, assemblies, and parts using portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, and rivets. Removes fasteners without damaging structures. Reads work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type size, and hole pattern for rivets. Cuts and forms plastics and follows standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents. Aligns and assembles parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Shapes and forms complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written and verbal information using proper tooling. Makes repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), and Production Change Orders (PCO) and performs necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR). High School Diploma or GED. 4 years of related structural assembly experience. Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets. Ability to use hand tools including portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, and reamers. Knowledge of close tolerance work and use of special tools and equipment. Ability to work with composite resins and materials. Basic computer and basic shop math skills. Ability to read a scale and comprehend basic documents and instructions. Ability to climb ladders, stands, stairs, work in small spaces or restricted areas, and lift 50 pounds.
