Job Description

We are an Aircraft Builder-Assist Facility for kit/experimental aircraft. We are a group of highly-skilled and friendly people committed to helping experimental/amateur aircraft builders achieve the best and safest aircraft they can by teaching effective building techniques and strategies. We are currently looking for a full-time Aircraft Build Assist Technician who will assist in fabricating, assembling, installing, and processing materials, parts, and assemblies for experimental/amateur build aircraft. Training is hands-on. Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
JOB DUTIES
Using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Assists in trimming and filing of parts. Fastening subassemblies into structural assemblies. Assists in the assembly of tail, wing, fuselage, or other structural sections of aircraft from parts, subassemblies, and components such as frames, bulkheads, doors, stabilizers, and landing gear. Assists in laying out, assembling, installing, and testing aircraft systems to include: rigging and control assemblies, plumbing and hydraulic systems, radio and electrical systems, O2 systems, aircraft power plant assemblies, and avionics systems. Assists in the attachment of fiberglass sections onto structural assemblies using fiberglass mat, cloth, mixing catalyst into resin. Cutting and sanding of fiberglass sections to fit on to structural assemblies. Adjusts, aligns, and calibrates aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment. Examines and inspects engines or other components for cracks, breaks, or leaks. Assembles and installs electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components, and accessories using hand tools and power tools. Tests engine and system operations using testing equipment to detect and diagnose malfunctions. Installs engine using hoist. Modifies aircraft structures, systems, or components following technical drawings, kit assembly instructions, engineering orders, and technical publications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Attention to details. Ability to operate hand tools and power tools. Precision workmanship; manual dexterity; mechanical aptitude. Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively, both verbal and written. This is a fast-paced work environment, must be a quick learner and teachable. Must be able to multi-task and oversee multiple projects. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Ability to read and understand aircraft plans and technical drawings. Customer service and interaction skills are essential. You must be willing and able to teach and work with customers and be approachable.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Aviation experience: HIGHLY desired
FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate:
PREFERRED

PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE
Clean shaven or trimmed facial hair is a requirement per OSHA guidelines Long hair needs to be tied back and neatly groomed Work-appropriate attire, be professional. No inappropriate slogans or brands on attire.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment up to 50 pounds as a routine job function. Stand for lengthy periods of time, lifting, walking, and stooping. Must be able to work in tight or confined aircraft spaces.
For example:
narrow aircraft tail cone or under the avionics hood. Working on soft aluminum requires physical dexterity.
OTHER:
Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen. Possess a valid driver's license & reliable transportation.

Starting wage is depending on experience.
Pay:
$41,600.00
  • $52,000.
