This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of aircraft types, performing major and minor repairs and alterations, as well as perform scheduled maintenance on our flight school fleet. As a full-time A&P here, you will be at the forefront of aircraft maintenance, utilizing your mechanical expertise to keep our fleet and other aircraft operating smoothly and safely. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on aircraft airframes, engines, and systems in accordance with the scope and detail of FAA Regulations and company procedures. Perform repairs, replacements, and diagnostics on aircraft components using a variety of tools and calibrated equipment. Utilize schematics, diagrams, technical publications and manuals to diagnose issues accurately through root cause analysis. Operate aircraft per company and aircraft operating procedures including ground run-ups, taxiing, and towing when needed. Fabricate or modify materials, equipment, and parts based on project requirements. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities digitally and manually using company software while ensuring compliance with the FAA under the FAR guidelines. Adhere strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and internal safety protocols to uphold the highest safety standards in aviation maintenance. Requirements Obtained A&P Certification with (preferred) previous proven A&P work experience or a similar military aircraft maintenance role or in a repair station operation. Proficiency with FAA approved publications and online navigation of maintenance documentation. Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, avionics systems, and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Previous experience with power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, micrometers, compression testers, megohmmeters and other precision calibrated equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs using appropriate heavy lifting techniques by aviation standards Understanding of FAA regulations including FAR Part 43 (maintenance) Ability to perform diagnostics and maintenance in high-stress situations to identify problems efficiently and implement corrective actions promptly while upholding safe, clean, and organized working environments. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in maintenance procedures. Excellent communication skills and team cooperation. Open to other maintenance opinions and shared experiences to deliberate the most effective solution in any given situation.
