Description:
The Aircraft Mechanic 1 troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces MH47 functional components including rigging, flight controls, components, plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, and special tools/test sets.
Responsibilities:
Works supporting the
SOATB MH47
program. Emphasis will be on flight line maintenance. The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, axillary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This worker will read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Qualifications:
Must be a US citizen with valid drivers license. Must be able to obtain a secret clearance. 6+ years' experience in Army aviation. Ability to travel 1-2 weeks at a time / complete TDY assignments. Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records. Must be able to pass a basic physical to operate equipment/vehicles on the flight line and be a member of the aircraft towing team. Experience using aircraft special tools and test sets. Must have own tools/toolbox. Must be able to climb on and around aircraft and use maintenance stands. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Experience with MH47 aircraft is desirable.
