Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler with hands-on experience building and assembling remote control (RC) airplanes. The ideal candidate has excellent mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and experience working with lightweight structures, precision components, and mechanical systems. This role involves assembling, inspecting, and testing mechanical assemblies to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies using engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications. Build and integrate RC aircraft structures, including fuselages, wings, control surfaces, landing gear, and hardware. Install and align mechanical systems such as control linkages, servos, motors, propellers, and associated components. Perform precision drilling, fastening, bonding, sanding, and fitting of composite, wood, plastic, aluminum, or carbon fiber parts. Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, alignment, fit, and functionality. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make adjustments to ensure proper operation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Document assembly work and report quality or production issues. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve assembly processes. Required Qualifications Experience building, assembling, or repairing remote control (RC) airplanes or similar precision mechanical products. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret assembly drawings or technical instructions. Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and precision assembly equipment. Ability to perform detailed work requiring patience, accuracy, and consistency. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications Experience with composite materials, carbon fiber, fiberglass, or lightweight aircraft construction. Familiarity with adhesives, epoxies, and precision bonding techniques. Experience in aerospace, UAV/drone, model aircraft, robotics, or electromechanical assembly. Basic understanding of mechanical alignment and quality inspection procedures.
