Background:
PKL Services will be providing contractor Intermediate Level (MALS, I-Level) maintenance in support of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (2nd MAW) squadrons at Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC. Job Description I-level Power Plants Mech II I Level Powerplants Mech II on the MV-22 is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing dynamic components on military helicopters and tiltrotor aircraft. These highly trained mechanics ensure the flight readiness of critical rotating parts, rotor heads, and transmissions. They perform component inspection by disassembling and evaluating dynamic components (e.g., rotor blades, rotor heads, drive shafts, and gearboxes) for wear, cracks, corrosion, and structural integrity Maintenance and repair actions include sanding, repairing fiberglass, and applying protective coatings (like polyurethane tape and carbon fiber paint) to rotor blades and replacing worn seals, bearings, and hardware within assemblies Troubleshoot to diagnose malfunctions in dynamic assemblies using technical reference manuals, gauges, and precision measuring tools; ground operation and testing by through rigorous pre-flight checks and assist with pressure checks and final operational evaluations Document maintenance by meticulously tracking maintenance actions, part usage, and inspections in accordance with strict naval aviation and technical publications. This Mechanic shall verify his/her experience and make available documentation of experience upon request to the COR and program manager.
Job requirements:
Four + years of aircraft experience with the fabrication and repair of composite material, preferably in support of Intermediate maintenance requirements, with 2 years airframes structural repair experience on V-22 aircraft. Will be familiar with all relevant publications, directives, orders, and tooling. Required education & added skills background: High School Diploma or equivalent. Shall be a U.S. citizen to ensure access to flight line work spaces, restricted areas (RA) and critical information systems via eligibility to attain and maintain a CAC card. Must be able to pass a background check. Must possess a valid state drivers license if billet requires use of a government owned vehicle.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Primarily in a workshop. You may transit the flight line ramp/apron in high noise areas. Ability to both sit and stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key). This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. Normal color perception required. The noise level in the workshop is moderate. May be exposed at times to moderate discomforts such as heat, cold, rain, wind. All qualified job seekers are encouraged to apply.
