This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to impactful, mission-critical initiatives. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced laboratory and field testing of pavement materials including aggregates, asphalt, soils, concrete, and related construction materials. Conduct testing in accordance with project requirements, ASTM, AASHTO, and approved laboratory procedures. Analyze laboratory test data and identify trends, inconsistencies, and potential material performance issues. Support construction acceptance testing activities including asphalt, concrete, aggregate, and soil evaluations. Assist with development and execution of project-specific material test plans. Support inter-laboratory comparison testing and preparation of test materials for external laboratory activities. Perform quality control checks to ensure test accuracy and compliance with accreditation requirements. Assist with laboratory equipment operation, calibration verification, and maintenance documentation. Review test results and provide technical input for laboratory reports and data submissions. Mentor junior laboratory technicians on testing procedures and laboratory practices. Provide support and expertise in assigned domain. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions. Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards. Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives. Special projects as needed. Required Skills Advanced knowledge of construction materials testing methods and procedures. Ability to independently perform laboratory and field-testing activities. Knowledge of asphalt, aggregate, concrete, and soil testing practices. Ability to interpret laboratory test results and identify discrepancies. Knowledge of ASTM, and AASHTO testing standards. Experience supporting laboratory quality control and accreditation activities. Ability to prepare technical documentation and test reports. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience & Qualifications 8 years of relevant experience performing construction materials testing for pavement, transportation, or infrastructure projects. Experience with asphalt, aggregate, concrete, and/or soil testing. Experience conducting laboratory testing in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards. Experience analyzing test results and preparing technical documentation. Experience supporting quality assurance or laboratory accreditation activities. Proven ability to work in fast-paced, client-focused environments. Experience supporting federal programs preferred. Education Position requires a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Materials Science, or related field, with 8 years of experience; OR an MS/MA Degree in a related field with 6 years of experience.Certs Required:
