This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to impactful, mission-critical initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead and perform complex laboratory and field-testing activities supporting pavement research and construction projects. Provide technical oversight for pavement materials testing activities including asphalt, HMA, concrete, aggregates, and related materials. Support development, execution, and review of laboratory test procedures and project testing requirements. Perform advanced asphalt materials testing, HMA quality control activities, and asphalt mix design evaluations. Support laboratory accreditation requirements, including AASHTO Accreditation Program activities and proficiency testing. Review laboratory data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Lab Tech 1 and Lab Tech 2 personnel. Assist with troubleshooting laboratory equipment issues and testing challenges. Support preparation and review of technical reports, presentations, and FAA deliverables. Coordinate laboratory testing activities with FAA personnel and project stakeholders. Provide support and expertise in assigned domain. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions. Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards. Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives. Special projects as needed. Required Skills Advanced knowledge of pavement materials testing and laboratory operations. Expertise in asphalt materials testing, HMA construction quality control, and pavement materials evaluation. Ability to interpret complex laboratory data and provide technical recommendations. Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and industry pavement testing standards. Ability to support laboratory accreditation activities and quality management practices. Ability to lead testing activities and provide technical direction to laboratory personnel. Strong technical writing and reporting skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience & Qualifications 10 years of relevant experience performing construction materials testing for transportation, pavement, or airport infrastructure projects. Experience with asphalt materials testing, HMA construction, and pavement performance evaluation. Experience supporting laboratory quality assurance and accreditation requirements. Experience reviewing technical reports, test data, and laboratory documentation. Experience providing technical guidance to laboratory personnel. Proven ability to work in fast-paced, client-focused environments. Experience supporting federal programs preferred. Education Position requires a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Materials Science, or related field, with 10 years of experience; OR an MS/MA Degree in a related field with 8 years of experience.Certs Required:
