Duties Help This position is loced in the Logistics function of an ARNG Army Aviion Support Facility (AASF). This is an Army Nional Guard (ARNG) Dual Stus Technician position requiring military membership, compible military skill assignment, and classificion. The purpose of this position is to act as an aircraft mechanic with responsibility for certifying airworthiness and managing the operional readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviion unit personnel. Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircraft's level of mission capabilities and operional readiness IAW Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA), Code of Federal Regulion (CFR) title 14 Part 43 rules governing the maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding and alterion of aircraft having a U.S. airworthiness certifice as well as guidelines and projection of maintenance requirements per the UH-72A Program Office to maintain individual aircraft operional readiness, ensuring aircraft meet airworthiness compliance as stipuled within the Army's UH-72A Continued Airworthiness Maintenance Plan. Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework, servicing, inspections and documention for one or more highly technical, high performance UH72A military aircraft. Performs work in complex conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all weher and night operions. Trains, coordines, and oversees the work of Non Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) aircraft mechanics. Provides mentorship for those journey level workers pursuing A&P certificion. Certifies completion of maintenance tasks of non A&P mechanics and certifies the work of journey level workers in other trades working on the assigned aircraft. Certifies aircraft as airworthy before being released for flight. Performs ground checks and assists functional check pilots with in flight functional check procedures. Performs damage assessments and repairs. Participes in mission preparion and recovery operions. Oversees installion of equipment for special missions. Expedites UH-72A aircraft operions to include concurrent servicing, refueling, and/or reconfigurion of equipment for changes in operional missions. Requests maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints. Controls and performs work assignments based upon priorities, workload availability of UH-72A parts, facilities, merial and personnel. Observes and inspects work performed by other UH-72A workers work to insure compliance with applicable technical publicions, directives and local policy. Accomplishes operional tests of aircraft systems and components. Maintains UH-72A aircraft under FAA and manufacturer guidelines and conducts inspections IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance publicions and special inspection criteria as outlines in FAA, OEM and Army maintenance and safety messages. These include requirements of Aviion Maintenance Action Messages (AMAM), Aviion Safety Action Messages (ASAM) and any other reled FAA or Aircraft manufacturer requirement Field Level maintenance. Plans, develops and conducts proficiency training during the technician work week to a multifaceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and supported unit personnel. Sessions are designed to provide training in techniques of repair and maintenance of UH-72A aircraft and reled equipment. Conducts and certifies proficiency of trainees for additional or increased responsibilities. Evalues training by observion of performed tasks. Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulions. Ensures merial and equipment are properly and safely maintained and protected. Ensures current up to de compliance and conformity to all FAA and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) regulory requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. This is an excepted service position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the employing ste's Nional Guard, required prior to the effective de of placement. Selectee required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. The incumbent must possess/obtain within 12 months of position selection, an AnP certifice issued by the FAA per CFR Title 14, part 65, subpart D.
