Updated 07/2026 Job Description Job Summary KaiserAir is advertising an immediate opening for a part time Flight Mechanic. The Flight Mechanic will act as the primary maintenance representative for assigned aircraft while in the air and on the ground. Oversee and perform daily aircraft maintenance responsibilities as directed; receive incoming aircraft; screen Flight Logs for entries and implement corrective actions as required. Review and report items under Mechanical Reliability Report procedures. Review log and affect corrective action on all discrepancies as required by FARs. Serve as an SME as requested for the purposes of troubleshooting, staff training and maintenance control support.
Desired Skills:
Systems troubleshooting and checkout; principles of operation of fuel systems, flight control systems and hydraulic system; principles of operation of propulsion systems; Basic Computer Operations; operation of ground support equipment;
Repair Technology:
Skin, scratch, structural, plastic and composite repair, principles of operation of environmental and life support systems. Ensure the continued airworthiness of company aircraft at all times in accordance with the FARs and provisions of company maintenance manuals. Coordinate with Flight Mechanic Supervisor, Flight Following/Maintenance Control; Maintenance Supervisor and Assistant Director of Maintenance Perform and monitor all maintenance and inspection activities performed on company Boeing aircraft. Ensure proper references, maintenance manuals forms and records are in accordance with all FAR s and processed appropriately. Ensure all precision tools, measuring devices and test equipment used have been calibrated and do not exceed calibration due time. Assemble all forms, records and parts tags used in conjunction with the operation including records of discrepancies found with corrective action taken and ensure these reach the maintenance records department in a timely manner. Ensure repairable parts tags are accurate and parts are tagged as required. Submit log sheets and parts tags to maintenance records department. Ensure used unserviceable parts are returned to the Parts Department in a timely manner. Ensure fly away kit is stocked and replenished when required. Requirements Hold a current mechanic certificate with Airframe and/or Powerplant rating(s). Must have minimum 40 hours General Familiarization training on B737NG Responsible for properly performing all work assigned to him/her in accordance with approved maintenance procedures, for recording of all work performed, and assuming responsibility for that work as indicated by his/her signature or initials. Notifies the MXC of any discrepancies or un-airworthy conditions found during the performance of work assigned. Notifies the MXC immediately about any conditions that would create a problem relating to parts, materials, airworthiness or workmanship. The position will be open until filled.
