A&P Mechanic Location:
Ardmore, OK Position Summary:
The A&P Mechanic performs inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, modification, and testing of aircraft systems and components in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and company procedures. This position supports the safe and efficient operation of aircraft by ensuring all maintenance activities are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and airworthiness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine and heavy maintenance including phase inspections, service checks, and component replacements Troubleshoot and repair airframe, powerplant, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, flight control, and landing gear systems. Remove, install, rig, and functionally check aircraft components per approved technical data. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, IPCs, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins. Inspect aircraft, document discrepancies, corrective actions, and all maintenance performed. Use approved, calibrated tooling and support equipment in accordance with company requirements. Perform operational and functional tests to verify system performance and airworthiness. Support aircraft modifications, repairs, and return-to-service activities. Coordinate with Avionics Technicians, Inspectors, and Maintenance Leadership to meet project deadlines. Maintain a clean, organized work environment per company, FAA, and OSHA standards. Complete maintenance records, logbook entries, and work orders accurately and on time. Adhere to all safety policies, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support ground runs, engine runs, taxi ops, and flight-line activities as authorized. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with limited supervision.
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required. 3-5 years of aircraft maintenance experience. Boeing 737 aircraft experience required. Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance practices, and FAA regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance instructions. Must possess own tools (shadowed and etched). Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
