Helicopter Mechanic Job Description This role focuses on performing advanced maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of civilian helicopters in a Part 145 repair station environment. You will apply your extensive hands-on experience with rotary-wing aircraft, including AW139 models, to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the fleet while supporting a collaborative team of aviation professionals. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive helicopter maintenance, including heavy maintenance tasks on civilian rotary-wing aircraft. Conduct detailed inspections in accordance with regulatory, manufacturer, and internal maintenance standards. Interpret and read schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues. Troubleshoot airframe and powerplant systems, including turbine engines, to identify faults and implement effective repairs. Work on multiple helicopter models, including AW139 and other civilian platforms such as Bell, Eurocopter, Airbus, Sikorsky, and Agusta/AgustaWestland. Use personal tools and equipment to carry out maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks safely and efficiently. Collaborate with A&P mechanics, avionics technicians, sheet metal mechanics, and composites technicians in a Part 145 repair station setting. Support lead-level activities as needed, leveraging prior leadership experience to guide and coordinate maintenance efforts. Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance, repair, and inspection work performed in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Adhere to all safety procedures, quality standards, and repair station policies while working in the hangar environment. Essential Skills 7-10+ years of helicopter maintenance experience. At least 2+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity within helicopter maintenance. Hands-on maintenance and inspection experience with AW139 helicopters. Proven ability to interpret and read schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation. Experience performing detailed inspections and heavy maintenance on civilian helicopters. Strong mechanical aptitude in rotary-wing and turbine aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with airframe and powerplant systems on helicopters and corporate aircraft. Ability to perform repair, inspection, and troubleshooting tasks independently and as part of a team. Ownership and use of a complete set of personal tools required for aircraft maintenance work. Valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred but not required. Experience in a Part 145 repair station or corporate aviation maintenance environment. Experience working with multiple helicopter manufacturers, such as Agusta/AgustaWestland, Bell, Eurocopter, Airbus, and Sikorsky. Familiarity with corporate aircraft maintenance practices and standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including avionics, sheet metal, and composites specialists. Any additional civilian helicopter model experience is a significant plus. The position is structured as a first-shift role, providing consistent daytime hours in a professional, safety-focused shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bensalem, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
