Job Title:
Aircraft Technician Job Description The Aircraft Technician performs maintenance, modifications, and upgrades on a variety of regional jets, with a primary focus on CRJ and ERJ aircraft. The role centers on heavy maintenance activities, including C and D checks, to ensure aircraft safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Perform heavy maintenance, inspections, and repairs on regional jets, with a focus on CRJ-200, CRJ-700, CRJ-900, ERJ-135, ERJ-145, and ATR aircraft. Carry out C and D checks and other scheduled maintenance tasks in accordance with approved maintenance manuals and regulatory requirements. Complete aircraft modifications and upgrades as directed, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. Use technical documentation, maintenance manuals, and work instructions to diagnose issues and perform corrective actions. Work as part of a team of technicians, coordinating tasks with 8-12 colleagues assigned per aircraft to meet project timelines. Properly document all maintenance actions, discrepancies, and corrective measures in the appropriate records and forms. Utilize a personal basic tool set to perform daily maintenance tasks efficiently and safely. Follow all hangar safety procedures, regulations, and company policies while working in a large maintenance facility. Participate in training provided by the company to expand skills and stay current with procedures and aircraft types. Support a culture of integrity, quality, and customer-focused service in all maintenance activities. Required Skills & Qualifications Valid FAA A&P License Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance (2+ years) Knowledge of heavy aircraft maintenance practices, including C and D checks. Experience working on regional jets such as CRJ-200, CRJ-700, CRJ-900, ERJ-135, and ERJ-145. Understanding of aircraft systems, structures, and components relevant to regional jet maintenance. Ability to interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals and technical documentation. Capability to work effectively as part of a multi-technician team on each aircraft. Work Environment Work takes place in a large hangar facility with a team of at least 20 technicians, typically assigning 8-12 employees per aircraft to support collaborative maintenance projects. The atmosphere is casual and team-oriented, with technicians expected to bring and use their own basic tool set. The standard schedule follows a rotating 4/10 first-shift pattern: Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., then Tuesday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with plans to add a second shift and weekend shift in the future. Training is provided to support skill development and familiarity with the aircraft and procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
