In this energetic role, you will perform comprehensive inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of reciprocal engine aircraft and systems. Your expertise will help keep aircraft operating smoothly and safely, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional aviation services. Air-O Specialists services the General Aviation recip engine community. The work environment is fast-paced and highly diverse in activities. Independent troubleshooting combined with team assistance is vital. Your mechanical skills and attention to detail will make a real impact every day. Duties Conduct documented and detailed inspections of airframes, engines, avionics, electrical systems, and mechanical components using maintenance manuals, schematics, technical drawings, and illustrated parts catalogs. Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify issues with aircraft systems, utilizing engineering troubleshooting techniques and precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and torque wrenches. Repair or replace mechanical systems including welding, soldering, and the use of specialized industrial tools and power tools. Interpret technical drawings and schematics to accurately assemble or disassemble aircraft components in accordance with FAA regulations (Federal Aviation Regulations) and industry standards such as AS9100. Use coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for precise measurements during maintenance or fabrication tasks. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with aviation safety standards. Support operations by performing heavy lifting tasks, use of chemicals, and working in close quarters, all safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Have earned the FAA A&P license. Salary is commensurate on experience and performance. Proven experience as an aircraft mechanic or in a related aviation maintenance role with a strong background in aircraft maintenance or manufacturing. Extensive electrical experience combined with knowledge of avionics gauges and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with military aviation standards or military aviation experience is highly desirable. Proficiency in interpreting schematics and technical drawings. Hands-on skills with hand tools such as torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, soldering irons, ammeters, ohmmeters, and welding equipment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in confined spaces or at heights when necessary. Experience with aircraft structural repair involving sheet metal fabrication and welding techniques. Strong mechanical knowledge across airframe systems, power plants, flight control systems, and electrical components.
