Area I:

Currently assigned service members in other branches of the military outside of the VTNG, to include those assigned to Active Duty, Reserve or other ste's Nional Guard. Duties Help The primary purpose of this position is to perform on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft egress systems, such as aircraft ejection ses, extraction and escape systems, egress components of jettison canopies, explosive components of escape hches and doors, and egress trainers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Troubleshoots, installs, removes, repairs. modifies, adjusts, inspects, and tests components as regulors, flow indicors, actuor motors, thruster and positioning mechanisms, se actuors, capult guide rails, ejection ses, rocket packs, and canopies, etc. Inspects for safety, serviceability, and maintainability of systems prior to installion, removal, repair, or adjustments of components and insures 2. Inspects pressurizion system air pressure gauges for sufficient pressure and bottles and regulors for general condition and serviceability. Checks canopy and capsule structure and associed seals, lches, and locks for damage and security. Installs and maintains Jet Assistance Take Off (JATO) systems when applicable. Isoles the malfunction and takes necessary corrective action. Positions, repairs, and adjusts required aerospace ground equipment, such as rail extensions, hoists, slings. dollies, and trailers used in performing maintenance tasks. 3. Performs installion, modificion, and repair of aircraft egress systems. Solves unusual installion and maintenance problems by studying layout drawings, schemic and wiring diagrams, applicable technical publicions, and analyzing construction and opering characteristics of egress systems. Selects proper maintenance and repair procedures and corrects the malfunction and/or defective equipment. Diagnoses recurring malfunctions and recommends corrective action by initiion of Quality Deficiency Reports, proposed modificions, or other approprie action. Performs Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO'S) reled to egress systems. 4. Prepares for and participes in various types of readiness evaluions such as CRI, FRI and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling. heavy equipment operor, maintenance of facilities and equipment. or serve as a member of a team to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:
Experience or training which demonstres the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components. Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specificions, and engineering drawings. Experience which demonstres skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumic checks. Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a position engaged in functions such as installion, maintenance, or repair of aircrew egress systems. Must demonstre through experience and/or approprie training, a thorough knowledge of mechanical, pneumic, and electrical principles as applied to aircrew egress systems: of the concepts embodied in
AFM 66-1.
Vol XII; and of the use and interpretion of blueprints, wiring diagrams. and technical publicions.
Specialized Experience:
WG-06-9 Months Experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modificion, repair, and installion of ordnance systems. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedies where complex relionships exist. Experience in hand tools and the use of a variety of measuring and test equipment.
