This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage systems including security alarms, video surveillance, and access control systems. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and works with a strong sense of urgency while maintaining quality workmanship. This position requires someone who can lead by example, stay productive throughout the workday, communicate professionally with customers and team members, and help ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. Essential Responsibilities Install, inspect, service, and repair low voltage systems including: Security alarm systems Video surveillance systems Access control systems Fire alarm systems Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and system layouts Run, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes Mount and install system devices, panels, cameras, and related equipment Troubleshoot system issues in the field and implement effective solutions Coordinate with builders, contractors, and customers to determine system requirements and project expectations Maintain organized job sites, vehicles, tools, and inventory Ensure all required materials and equipment are available before and during installations Complete service documentation, work orders, and project paperwork accurately and on time Lead and support other technicians when assigned Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer experience at all times Follow company safety procedures and workplace safety standards Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 5 years of field experience in low voltage systems, with security systems experience required Current Level 1 AESBL license OR ability to obtain a Level 1 AESBL license within the first 12 months of employment required High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Must meet company vehicle driving requirements Ability to pass background and drug screenings Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Proficient in the safe use of hand tools and power tools Ability to work independently, stay productive, and solve problems in the field Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet and perform physical work in construction and service environments Willingness to travel as needed Willingness to obtain additional state licenses or certifications if required Preferred Qualifications Previous leadership or crew lead experience Prior lift training and/or man-lift experience Knowledge of construction site safety practices Experience using multimeters and diagnostic equipment Familiarity with computers, software setup, and system programming Experience with Compass or similar industry software platforms What We're Looking For Successful team members in this role are: Dependable and consistently punctual Motivated and productive throughout the workday Able to work with purpose, efficiency, and attention to detail Professional with customers and coworkers Team-oriented while also capable of working independently Committed to quality workmanship and accountability Schedule Monday-Friday Day shift Overtime available On-call rotation may be required Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Bonus opportunities Commission opportunities Company vehicle opportunities for qualified drivers Opportunities for advancement and additional training
