Salary:

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a gate technician or in a similar role involving automated systems. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and mechanical components. Familiarity with various brands and models of gate operators and access control devices. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience in welding and fabrication.

Preferred Skills:

Certification in low-voltage electrical work or equivalent. Experience with programming access control systems (keypads, intercoms, card readers, etc.). Familiarity with network-based gate systems and remote access technologies. CDL or ability to operate light machinery (e.g., skid steers, trenchers).

Thomas Fence is seeking a skilled Automated Gate Technician to install, maintain, and repair automated gate systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of automated gate systems and access control solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation:

Install automated gate systems, including motors, access control devices, and safety mechanisms. Configure wiring, programming, and integration of gate systems with access control and security systems. Conduct quality assurance tests to ensure proper functioning and alignment of gate components. 2.

Maintenance & Repair:

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and programming issues in automated gate systems. Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, alignment, and safety checks. Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot system malfunctions efficiently. 3.

Technical Expertise:

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Stay updated on the latest technologies and products in automated gate systems and access control. Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety and industry standards. 4.

Customer Interaction:

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide technical advice. Educate clients on system operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Deliver exceptional customer service to maintain client satisfaction and build trust. 5.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulations during all tasks. Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures on job sites. Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and environments. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor throughout the day. Capability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces when needed. #hc187071
