Testing Technician TRL Systems, Inc - 3.5 Burbank, CA Job Details Full-time $22 - $33 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Life insurance Qualifications Fire safety Outdoor work Company vehicle operation High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Join our team as a Fire Testing Technician , where you'll play a key role in helping ensure commercial buildings remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. In this hands-on field position, you'll work alongside experienced testing professionals to inspect, test, and verify fire alarm and life safety systems across a variety of commercial properties. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical field work, problem-solving, and working in fast-paced construction and service environments. You'll gain experience with fire alarm devices, system testing procedures, reporting, and regulatory compliance while building a strong foundation in the fire life safety industry. What You'll Do Perform onsite testing of commercial fire life safety systems Test and clean smoke detectors, pull stations, horn strobes, modules, and other field devices Assist with fire alarm panel monitoring and system activation during testing Label devices and verify system functionality according to project requirements and code standards Support testing setup, coordination, and breakdown activities onsite Complete testing documentation and reports accurately Work closely with leadership, customers, and field teams to ensure successful project completion Follow company safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements 1+ years' experience in fire life safety testing High School Diploma or Equivalent (required) Electrical Mechanic Trade School (preferred) Valid California driver license Proof of valid car insurance Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shift, and rotating shifts (if needed) Punctuality and regular attendance (required)
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations. Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, high rise/midrise buildings, and/or hospitals with patient contact. Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 20+ pounds, daily Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally At TRL Systems, we've been keeping people and their property safe for over 42 years.
