Job Summary:

The Fire Alarm Foreman will be responsible for the proper installation and operation of fire alarm systems while ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations. This position will train and mentor fire alarm apprentices and technicians on fire alarm installations and safety protocols.

Duties:

Install or upgrade fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. Run and install low voltage wiring in accordance with project design and applicable codes. Install and program a wide variety of alarm control panels. Working knowledge and ability to use tools and test equipment required to install and troubleshoot fire alarm systems. Properly mentor and train Fire Alarm Apprentices and Technicians on all aspects of fire alarm installation and safety protocols. Review time for employees assigned to jobs. Responsible for reporting employees' time weekly. Enforce safety at all times. Ensure any energized circuits are locked off before attempting any work whether it is 24 VDC or high voltage circuit. Accurately interpret blueprints and project drawings and maintain accurate project record documents. Coordinate manpower activities on your job site with the Alarm Superintendent and/or Project Manager, focusing on productivity. Review plans as frequently as needed to ensure team understands the scope of the particular project. Ensure that all field coordination with other trades is documented and within the scope of work. Communicate design and coordination problems with the Alarm Superintendent and/or Project Manager. Complete JSAs daily. Complete progress reports as requested. Include any accidents, changes in design due to field conditions, proposed changes in scope and conflicts with design related to existing conditions. Ensure that all material for a job is on site as required. Once on site, you will be expected to layout, or store materials in a designated, safe and secure location. Ensure alarm devices and existing zones on new or existing systems are checked with preliminary testing in compliance with NFPA 72 before a final with local authorities is requested. Report any deficiencies of the preliminary test to the Alarm Superintendent and/or Project Manager before scheduling a final. Ensure company provided vehicle, equipment, and tools are well maintained as required by company policies. Will be required to drive on company business and/or be assigned to drive a company vehicle to ensure completion of position requirements.

Qualifications:

Must have 3 years of experience in fire alarm installations. Current Alarm Blue Card (CFLS) or General Electrician Card is required. Current

NICET II

certification preferred. Ability to operate computer equipment, use MS Office, and read blueprints is required. Self-motivated, dependable, and reliable. Great organizational and communications skills. Team Player - able to develop effective working relationships and build trust with other trades, general contractors, team members, and managers. Eager to learn and continually improve. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. OSHA 10 required upon hire. OSHA 30 within 90 days.
