We're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician who is recognized as a technical expert in the field. POSITION SUMMARY
The Fire Alarm Service Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, programming, and commissioning sophisticated fire alarm systems across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and government facilities. This role serves as a senior technical resource for customers, project teams, and fellow technicians, ensuring systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Advanced ServiceTroubleshooting Diagnose and repair complex fire alarm system issues with minimal supervision. Troubleshoot networked fire alarm systems, communication pathways, and integrated building systems. Perform software updates, system modifications, programming changes, and controller replacements. Execute advanced diagnostics utilizing manufacturer-specific software tools. Customer Support Build trusted relationships with customers through professional communication and technical expertise. Explain technical findings and recommend solutions in a clear, customer-friendly manner. Provide emergency service response when required. Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance, upgrades, and system improvements. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience servicing commercial fire alarm systems. Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and applicable fire codes. Experience programming, servicing, and troubleshooting sophisticated fire alarm systems. Ability to independently diagnose difficult electrical and communication issues. Strong understanding of network communications as they relate to fire alarm systems. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level III or IV certification.
Manufacturer certifications such as:
Siemens Notifier Edwards Simplex EST Bosch Honeywell Gamewell-FCI Experience with integrated systems including: Access Control Security Mass Notification Smoke Control Voice Evacuation Experience mentoring technicians or leading technical teams.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Climb ladders and work at varying heights. Work in construction environments, occupied buildings, and mechanical spaces. Stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods. Travel locally to customer sites throughout the assigned territory.
