In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of low voltage systems across commercial and residential settings. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of security, fire alarm, surveillance, telecommunication, and other low voltage systems that are critical to safety and operational efficiency. Duties Install, configure, and service low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, security alarms, fire alarm systems, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and access control systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete system installations and repairs. Perform cabling tasks using power tools and hand tools to run wires through walls, ceilings, and conduits while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed, including installation logs, service reports, and system configurations. Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure proper integration of low voltage infrastructure. Provide field service support by diagnosing problems on-site with mechanical knowledge of equipment such as sensors, lock systems, and surveillance hardware. Follow safety protocols diligently when working with electrical components or power tools to ensure a safe work environment. Skills Strong understanding of computer networking principles essential for configuring networked security cameras and access control systems. Mechanical knowledge related to sensors, CCTV hardware, fire alarms, locks, and other low voltage equipment. Proven experience as a service technician in installing or maintaining security or telecommunication systems. Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately for system design and troubleshooting purposes. Familiarity with IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, CCTV cameras, alarm panels, and remote access software solutions. Electrical experience with cabling practices compliant with NEC standards; adept at using power tools and hand tools safely. Knowledge of security system sales processes is a plus for client consultations or upgrades. Construction background helpful for integrating low voltage infrastructure into building projects. Understanding of telecommunication wiring standards along with locksmithing skills for access control installations.
