Job Description

Job Summary:
A Senior Level Fire Alarm Systems Technician will be responsible for the installation, testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of all types of fire alarm systems to include Stand-Alone, Network, Pre-Action, and Suppression Detection Systems without direct supervision. Other duties would include the repair, replacement and testing of fire alarm panels and their components without direct supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Read blue prints and interpret project specifications to provide a fully operational system. 2. Select and organize fire alarm components associated with the specifications and installation drawings. 3. Climb ladders and utilize aerial lifts to assist with installation of fire alarm components. 4. Install conduit, back boxes, wire hangers and other miscellaneous material as required per scope of work. 5. Install fire alarm panels, fire alarm peripheral devices, pull wire, and terminate circuits per scope of work. 6. Program fire alarm system to operate per installation drawings and specifications. 7. Direct and supervise entry level technicians as required to complete projects. 8. Inspect tools, cords, and ladder/lifts as needed. 9. Assist with inventory of construction materials on job sites and office/shop areas. 10. Maintain a clean job site that could include sweeping, picking up loose materials, cleaning and organizing the work area and equipment. 11. Compliance with any stipulations set by the General Contractor enabling onsite installation. 12. Inspection and testing per
NFPA 72. 13.
Preform troubleshooting and service calls as required.
Job Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • NICET Level 2 Certification.
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools, climbing ladders, work on aerial lifts and utilize common hand tools for installation.
  • Ten years of technical training or relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for clear and effective customer interactions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Optional:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
