Hourly Job Summary:

Suppression technicians are responsible for delivering outstanding customer service with tasks related to the installation, modification, inspection, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintenance of Fire Suppression Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, test, and maintain a variety of fire suppression systems, including clean agent systems, dry chemical, CO2, foam and other special hazards fire protection applications. Perform testing of suppression system components, including alarms, pressure gauges, and release mechanisms. Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions, identifying and resolving issues efficiently. Communicate effectively with clients to explain the condition of their fire suppression systems, discussing necessary maintenance or repairs. Providing emergency service to investigate and diagnose alarm and trouble conditions to determine cause and take corrective action in order to bring system back to a normal working condition. Maintaining accurate and precise documentation of all work orders daily, including thorough and timely inspection reports with signature from customer submitted to inspection manager. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment with strict attention to all safety requirements. Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

Knowledge/experience installing, repairing and servicing suppression systems in a commercial environment. Nicet Certification in Suppression-Special Hazards, preferred. Possess related licensing/certification or be able to become licensed/certified Must be comfortable working from a lift and ladders. Working knowledge of computer networking, IP addresses etc. Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record to operate company vehicle or use personal vehicle to work. Must display professional appearance and demeanor along with outstanding customer service and communication skills. Must be a self-motivated worker with the demonstrated ability to contribute to team operations, performing all work in an efficient, organized and cost-effective manner. Must be able to climb ladders, operate high lift equipment and carry and move work materials. Physical Requirements While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings and outdoor settings, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc. Capable of standing, walking, bending and kneeling for extended periods Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed, which would require use of fall protection equipment and other safety devices Capable of using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc. Hiller is a drug-free workplace, an equal opportunity employer and ADA compliant.
