Are you ready to do work that matters? Summary The Console Operator operates communication console and surveillance equipment in Patrol headquarters. Dispatches activities of Protective Force Officers and emergency response personnel. Duties and Responsibilities Provides security protection by utilizing and monitoring the organization's building automation system, electronic surveillance systems and other monitoring devises. Utilizes and maintains electronic surveillance and detection systems through security console operations to include Security, Fire, Access Control, HVAC and executive support. Identifies, initiates, and coordinates appropriate response/notification based on console indications or event(s) and according to security guidelines. Provides first point of contact for situations involving off-site facilities, medical services, and computer center. Enters and retrieves data utilizing the organization's security management system. Assists in the smooth operation of post and shift operations, keeping accurate record of events and occurrences based on security guidelines. You Must Have High School diploma 2 or more years of security or public safety experience Ability to travel up to 5% of the time United States Citizenship Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations) We Value 1 year of previous experience operating communications console or surveillance equipment or conducting public safety dispatch activities preferred Knowledge of security systems, devices, and building automation systems in a corporate environment preferred. Must have basic reading ability. Must have a background which would not preclude a security clearance being granted.
