Position Overview We're looking for a dedicated, full time, On-Site Low Voltage Technician in in the Kansas City area who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking ownership of their work. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of low voltage systems. You'll work directly with customers, support critical systems, and play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly.

Dedicated on site Monday-Friday 0730 - 1630 ( After Hours On-Call with compensation )
Travel:
Up to 5% for certification retraining's. What You'll Do Service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low voltage systems, including: Intrusion alarm systems Access control systems CCTV and video surveillance Voice and data cabling Diagnose system issues and implement effective, timely solutions Perform system testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation Program and configure systems as needed Document service work clearly and accurately (reports, updates, system changes) Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members Provide on-site customer support and basic system training Maintain tools, test equipment, and (if assigned) company vehicle Ensure all work meets safety standards, company expectations, and applicable codes What You Bring A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IDS, Electronic Access Control (EAC), and IP-Based CCTV systems of comparable complexity to those in use (e.g., C-Cure 9000, Tyco/DSC, Lenel, Mobotix, AXIS). - Solid working knowledge of :
Access Control Systems:
Possess comprehensive knowledge of all system components, including panels, power supplies, I/O devices, readers, and locking mechanisms. Must understand credential authentication technologies.
Intrusion Detection Systems:
Demonstrate a complete understanding of DSC Commercial IDS solutions and a wide variety of detection sensors (e.g., PIR Motion, Magnetic Switches, etc.).
Network & Communication:
Must be able to troubleshoot industry-standard communication protocols (SIA & Contact ID) over IP and Wireless Mesh (AES) networks. -
Core Skills & Abilities Electrical & Power:
Proficient in low-voltage power connections, understanding electrical units (volt, ohm, amp), and applying circuit principles. Capable of calculating system current draw and required backup power.
Cabling & Installation :
Skilled in installing and terminating low-voltage cables, with knowledge of plenum/non-plenum types. Able to read blueprints and proficiently use tools like tone generators, probes, and crimpers.
Troubleshooting:
Expert use of testing equipment, including multimeters, to diagnose and resolve circuit faults.
