Fire Suppression System Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression systems in commercial, industrial, and residential facilities. This role ensures all systems comply with NFPA standards, local fire codes, and manufacturer specifications to protect life and property. Key Responsibilities

• Install fire suppression systems including:
• Kitchen hood systems
• Perform inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose system issues and complete repairs
• Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, local/state regulations, and OSHA safety standards
• Conduct system acceptance testing and prepare inspection reports
• Coordinate with fire marshals, contractors, and customers
• Maintain accurate service documentation and inspection tags
• Educate customers on system operation and basic safety procedures
• Get certified on all portable fire extinguishers Required Knowledge & Skills
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
• Ability to work from ladders, lifts, ceilings, and confined spaces
• Professional customer service and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical or trade school training preferred
• State fire suppression license (or ability to obtain)
• NICET certification (preferred or required depending on level)
• Manufacturer certifications (Ansul, Kidde, Amerex, etc.) a plus
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
• Comfortable working in hot, cold, and industrial environments
• Capable of standing, bending, kneeling and working overhead for extended periods Work Environment
• Commercial kitchens, warehouses, offices, retail, and industrial sites
• Indoor and outdoor job sites
• Occasional emergency or after-hours service calls
