Interstate Alarm Company is a family-owned business that has been safeguarding Montanans for over 50 years with top-tier alarm and low-voltage solutions. We offer a comprehensive range of commercial and residential fire and security services backed by 24-hour UL monitoring, technical assistance, and personalized customer service. Our team includes experienced NICET-certified technicians dedicated to reliability and excellence. We take pride in protecting what matters most while supporting our community. We are seeking a full-time alarm technician trainee. Learn how to install, maintain, repair, and replace security systems, camera systems and access control equipment. We are looking for someone to work under our experienced technicians to learn all the skills necessary and become a licensed security technician.
Job Duties and Functions:
Install, repair and inspect security systems, camera systems, and access control equipment Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software related issues on systems Working knowledge of low voltage wiring, relays, wiring diagrams and installation manuals a plus On the job training as well as web based training and testing Complete service tickets, final reports and other paperwork in a concise and accurate manner Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality at all times Responsible for wiring, mounting devices, programming and customer training on systems In-state travel required Step and extension ladder work involved Indoor and outdoor working conditions Rotating on-call schedule with compensation
Qualifications:
Good attitude. Willingness to learn Written and verbal communication skills Networking and IP configuration a plus Well organized.
